The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases July CPI on Wednesday, August 12 at 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC), and the consensus bar is set low enough that a miss in either direction would move markets more than a print stuck near June's. Economists surveyed ahead of the release expect headline CPI at 0.1% month over month and 3.4% year over year, with core CPI at 0.2% month over month and 2.5% year over year, according to the consensus tracked on Investing.com's economic calendar as of August 9.
