The wafer equipment makers had their best session in weeks on Monday, September 21. Applied Materials closed at $472.46, up 4.4 percent. Lam Research gained 4.9 percent to $310.96 and KLA added 3.9 percent to $188.32, according to Yahoo Finance closing data.
