Bitcoin Range-Bound Near $63,300 as ETF Flows Turn Negative

Bitcoin is stuck in a narrow band near $63,300 on Friday, holding roughly flat after spot Bitcoin ETFs swung from a strong early-August inflow run into four straight sessions of net redemptions. Ethereum is moving in lockstep with Bitcoin rather than on its own signal this week, and neither asset has a fresh catalyst to break the range.

That 24-hour move sounds modest, but the flow data behind it explains why the price has gone quiet. The four-session outflow streak of roughly $96.2 million, split across +$101.7 million, -$144.6 million, +$7.8 million and -$61.1 million, marks a sharp reversal from the $626 million that came in over the first three trading days of August. That swing points to tactical rebalancing among ETF issuers rather than a broad institutional exit, but it is enough to stall the accumulation narrative that had been pushing Bitcoin higher.

Ethereum's session looks almost identical, down 0.4% to $1,880.60 with no news specific to ETH driving the tape. Total crypto market capitalization slipped 0.67% over the same 24 hours to $2.26 trillion, with Bitcoin holding 56.2% dominance and Ethereum at 10.0%, according to CoinGecko. In-line July CPI data trimmed market-implied odds of a September Fed hike to roughly 38 to 40%, a mild tailwind for risk assets broadly, but Bitcoin's flat reaction suggests ETF flow direction, not macro data, is the dominant driver of price right now.

A single four-day outflow stretch is a data point, not yet a trend. Watch whether ETF flows stabilize or extend into next week before reading directional conviction into this range.
